Rotary Encoder

Optical Rotary Incremental Encoder

High-Resolution Angular Position Sensor
The Rotary Encoder is an electromechanical position sensor that converts angular shaft rotation into corresponding electrical signals. It provides accurate and repeatable feedback for position, direction, and speed measurement in industrial and motion control applications.

Operating Principle

  • Pulse generation: Generates electrical pulses in response to shaft rotation
  • Optical or magnetic sensing: Output signals produced using optical or magnetic sensing elements
  • Incremental position data: Position and speed derived based on encoder type

Key Features

  • Resolution: 100 to 5000 ppr
  • Output channels: A, B, Z or Ā, B̄, Z̄
  • Multiple output types: Push-pull, TTL Linedriver, HTL Linedriver
  • Flexible supply voltage: 5 VDC or 8–24 VDC or 5–24 VDC
  • Low power consumption: < 40 mA (24 VDC)
  • High speed: 3,500 rpm max
  • Durable construction: Aluminium and painted steel case
  • IP54 protection for industrial environments
  • Wide operating temperature: -20°C to +80°C
